i have a 5828 model...how do you clear time to "0" or change to less time -like 45 min to 25- other than letting it run down?

My timer is broken, I bought it 4/2013 while visiting a relative in
Arcata, CA.
I want to return it for replacement- I do not have a sales receipt.
